Explore the River Path
The river bike path entrance is one short block down Gilroy Street
Bikes are the perfect way to explore the rich history of the river, once the center of life for the Tongva people. The 11-mile scenic stretch called the Glendale Narrows supports snowy egrets, green and blue herons, double-crested cormorants, stilts, sandpipers, swallows and migrating birds like Canadian geese. You’ll see provocative community art and colorful graffiti, impromptu happenings such as DJ sets or performances in and along the river, giant jumping carp, and a plethora of delicious dining and drinking options along the way.
Explore Frogtown
Elysian Valley is a vibrant Northeast LA community on the Los Angeles River with much to offer. Nicknamed Frogtown many years ago when the unpaved river would spawn a multitude of frogs and toads along its banks, in recent years the river has been revitalized with ongoing habitat restoration that allows wildlife to thrive!
Come check us out & enjoy unique shops, art happenings, and delicious food and beverages from many local food vendors and restaurants on and near the river path. Many events are also held throughout the year, such as the Frogtown Art Walk and Ciclavia.
